Brookgreen is the country's oldest and largest sculpture garden where some 550 works of American figurative sculpture are displayed throughout the Archer and Anna Hyatt Huntington Sculpture Garden, one of the most beautiful public gardens in the Southeast. In addition, there's a Lowcountry Trail with native wildlife exhibits as well as historical and cultural exhibits that reveal the distinctive life and land of Lowcountry Carolina. Tours and excursions are offered daily, as well as seasonal programs.

Since opening to the public seven decades ago, Brookgreen Gardens has introduced visitors from around the world to an enchanting and compelling showcase of art and nature. The gardens are set on a 300-acre parcel in the heart of a 9,100-acre preserve on the South Carolina coast that stretches from the Atlantic Ocean to historic ricefields bordering the Waccamaw River.

The centerpiece of the Brookgreen property is a beautifully landscaped garden of centuries-old live oaks and more than 2,000 species and subspecies of plants native and adapted to the Southeastern United States. Throughout the gardens, the largest outdoor display of American figurative sculpture in the world -- more than 550 works by over 300 artists -- can be enjoyed in every season.
